It's been almost a month since I have updated this. Shame on me! I have a lot of pictures that I have wanted to post but didn't have a chance to. I have to use our desktop computer since Justin takes his laptop to school or has homework in the evening. Our desktop is in Zayden's room and I can't use it when he is sleeping, but that seems to be the time always remember that I want to update the blog. So it hasn't gotten done. But tonight, the laptop is all mine!
A belated Happy Easter to everyone! We had a great Easter just us in our own little apartment. We spent the weekend going to an Easter Egg hunt and planting our seeds for our garden we're going to attempt this summer. It was a nice relaxing weekend for all of us. I don't know how many more Easter weekends, I will be able to say that about when Zayden gets older! The Easter bunny hid eggs around the house on Sunday morning and Daddy helped Zayden find them and put them in Zayden't basket. Zayden discovered that those plastic eggs are the best toys! The rest of the week, that was his favorite toy. He usually had one in his hands at all times!
To start out with, Justin ran a 10K a few weeks ago for the first time. He decided a few months ago that he wanted to run a 10K and our bishop told him of one coming up that wasn't too far away that our bishop was also participating in. So Justin decided that it was time get his butt into gear and start shaping up and lose some weight.
This is Justin pre-race. Looking all cheery! He actually had a scout campout the night before so sleeping on the ground couldn't have been fun but that's Justin for you. Can't turn down a scout activity!
I have never seen a race like this before so I was there wanting to be supportive and curious about how it worked. Well, I learned fast that the only time I see Justin is when he starts and ends. So the rest of the time I chatted with the other spectators who were waiting for participants to finish. Zayden had no clue what was going on, but he loved playing with the other kids and watching out of his stroller from the beginning.
In case you can't read it, his shirt says "My dad is awesome" -pretty fitting don't you think?

Our fantastic bishop rounding the cone for the second half of the 10K. And he can still smile about it! I think if I did it, I would be a sweating, red-faced, panting mess.
After the race was finished, Zayden was tired of being with me so he hung out with daddy!
The victors! Happy with their after race glow! I was very impressed with both of them. They did better than I imagined and could have done myself. Zayden and I were cheering every time we saw them! I had a few videos but I have issues uploading them.
Conference Weekend at Matt and Julie's
We went up to Indiana to visit Justin's aunt and uncle's family for General Conference. In between the sessions on Saturday, all the boys were outside doing yard work. Lexus needed a break from being indoors but since the fellas were spreading fertilizer on the ground, they couldn't have her running around on the grass. So we tied her up where they weren't spreading any fertilizer and I got the lovely chore of attempting to brush out her winter coat. In the picture it looks like a cotton field is growing next to her. Nope! That's only a little tidbit of her winter coat that we started brushing out. I love my dog to death but she is shedding like crazy! I hate feeling like my house is dirty and she is the cause of most of the uncleanliness in the house. I have to vacuum every day and try to brush her out every day. Not fun right now, but necessary.
Oh and by the way, she was so anxious not to be left by herself that she chewed through the rope and found her way back into the house to find me. Silly dog.
Zayden was supposed to be taking a nap but decided he was a big boy and didn't need one. So Justin packed him along in a back pack and continued spreading fertilizer. Zayden LOVED it! He thought being in the backpack with Daddy was the best.
So the hat went on and the sunglasses too and guess what else came with that...his SMILE! I think I have the most smiley baby. He can charm his way through anything when he smiles. (He gets that from his dad) We borrowed the backpack from Matt and we are hoping to find a back pack for ourselves so we can go on outings and hiking with Zayden a little easier.
Zayden has discovered electronics and will find any way to get his hands on them. Whether it's my phone or my ipod or Justin's computer, he loves to shake them around and bang on the keys. Another love is cords! Phone cords, computer cords, charging cords, headbands, rope, blow dryer cords, etc. If you need a moment for yourself, hand him a cord and he's happy as a clam! whenever he starts to wave them around, he gets this face and starts to squeal. Squeals of delight!
I was out walking the other day and Zayden got on a swing for the first time! Smiles and giggles the entire time. I love my little man. He truly does bring a lot of joy into my life.
